Hello My Name Is...

Karly Brumley

Hello, My name is Karly Brumley. This is my second year teaching at Carlton Oaks. I taught Early Admission Kindergarten last year and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood development with a multiple subject credential. I am currently working on my master's of education in teaching and learning. I have been working with children for 5 years. I have an 8-year-old yellow lab named Allen. I also have my culinary degree in baking and pastry arts. I love to cook, bake, read, hike and watch movies. 

I teach using the inquiry or project based learning model. In project based learning, students work to investigate and respond to authentic, engaging, and complex questions, problems, or challenges. I teach for the whole child. This includes not only their academic development, but their social-emotional and physical development as well. I believe children learn best when they can have an active voice in what and how they are learning.
