My Project

This book will allow my students to experience Science in their Language Arts class. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind will inspire many as it shows how, even in the worst of times, a great idea and a lot of hard work can bring electricity to an entire village. William is banned from attending school due his parents’ inability to pay his tuition fees. He is able to learn about electrical engineering by using the school’s library.

This novel aligns itself with current middle school Next Generation Science Standards on Energy.

Students will be able able experience how to construct wind machines by using their own ideas and creativity.
